Comedian Jay Mohr Debuts New Comedy Podcast Network
The new comedy podcast networks debuts three months after his exit from The SModcast Network, a podcast network created by Kevin Smith in 2007.
The Fake Mustache Network features The Mohr Stories podcast, a show that originally debuted to great success on the SModcast Network. It was also announced that Late night host Jay Leno will be the opening guest to kick off "Mohr Stories" .
The network's lineup will feature The Crab Feast with Ryan Sickler and Jay Larsen, Talkin' S**t with Jim Jeffries and Eddie Ifft, Perfect 10 with Ralphie May and Lahna Turner and The Joe McDonnell Experience.
Mohr wants to offer a verity of content and not just "eight comics making jokes"
The podcasts are available at FakeMustache.com, on iTunes, or through the custom "Mohr Stories" app for iOS and Android available at the Android, iTunes, and Amazon app stores.
Smith let Mohr out of his contract early so he could create the Fake Mustache Network and hopes that each of the shows become big enough that they'll someday create spinoff networks of their own, where Mohr promises to be as generous with them as Smith was with him.
Pepsi Max has signed on as the major sponsor for Mohr's podcast. The other podcasts will have their own individual sponsors, although he is looking for other network sponsor.
Mohr is no stranger to talk shows being a frequent contributor and fill in host to the "Jim Rome Show" with Premiere Radio Networks as well as being regularly on morning shows such as "Opie and Anthony" and "Ron and Fez".
